Sekiro: No Defeat anime will be 'under the microscope' from passionate fans
The Sekiro: No Defeat anime has stirred new interest following a second trailer that leans into a strong visual identity—scratchy, loose linework, kinetic action and painterly backgrounds that suggest a kind of "controlled messiness." The series had earlier faced a brief hubbub over possible AI use, a point the director dismissed, and the trailer also teases familiar bosses such as Owl, Genichiro and Gyoubu Oniwa.
Director Kenichi Kutsuna says he expects intense scrutiny from the series' fanbase. He notes that FromSoftware has established a high standard and a worldwide community, so "the potential audience for what we're making in this anime is going to put this under the microscope," adding that he is nervous about meeting that level of resolution but believes the production has done what it can to protect the FromSoftware and Sekiro brand.
