Selena Gomez revealed which Taylor Swift songs were written about her during an appearance on her husband Benny Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets podcast. “Dorothea is about me,” she said, reflecting on the Evermore album track and on meeting Swift when they were about 15 and 18 years old.

Gomez described how they grew up together through “relationships to family to love to hate,” saying they were “figuring it out” and that she is impressed by how eloquently Swift put those moments into song. She pointed to lyrics such as “Ooh, you’re a queen” as examples of that framing.

She also revealed Swift wrote a vault track called “Family” about their friendship. Gomez recalled the song dates back “easily a decade ago,” noting its lines about big ambitions — “you want to be in a movie, in every crowd I see you” and “you believe in my stupid dreams, like playing stadiums” — and added that, now, those dreams have come true for them both.
