The Africa Cup of Nations comes to an end this evening as Senegal face Morocco in the final, with build-up coverage running alongside domestic football previews.

Two Premier League fixtures are scheduled for the afternoon: Wolves v Newcastle and Aston Villa v Everton. Yesterday’s results included Manchester United 2-0 Manchester City, Sunderland 2-1 Crystal Palace, Chelsea 2-0 Brentford, Liverpool 1-1 Burnley, Tottenham 1-2 West Ham, Leeds United 1-0 Fulham and Nottingham Forest 0-0 Arsenal; Michael Carrick enjoyed a dream start as United’s interim head coach and Arsenal missed the chance to capitalise on City’s derby defeat.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner criticised the club’s handling of recent business after the 2-1 loss to Sunderland, saying: “We feel that we’re being abandoned. There’s no support.” Tottenham’s mood also looked fragile after a home defeat that prompted boos. Women’s FA Cup action is also under way, with ties including Arsenal v Aston Villa and Manchester United v Burnley.

Matchday Live will continue to preview the action in the build-up to the main event; readers are invited to get in touch by emailing matchday.live@theguardian.com or leaving a comment below the line.
