Serie C: Liverani sacked by Ternana; Fazio takes charge, Catania sack Toscano
Fabio Liverani has been dismissed as Ternana manager after a 1-0 defeat at Vis Pesaro, a game in which Di Paola scored in the 4th minute and Dubickas was sent off in the 29th, leaving the visitors with 10 men. Ternana sit tenth in the table in the play-off zone with 42 points from 30 league games, level with Gubbio and Vis Pesaro, and host Sambenedettese in Group B on Friday evening.
Ternana announced the decision and thanked Liverani and his staff — Claudio Bellucci, Maurizio Cantarelli and Federico Fabellini — for their work and professionalism, wishing them success in their future careers. The club has temporarily entrusted first-team duties to Pasquale Fazio, the Under-17s manager, who will take charge from today’s training session.
In Group C, Catania chairman Vincenzo Grella has decided to sack Domenico Toscano despite a 2-1 away win at Altamura, secured by Tiago Casasola’s 97th-minute goal.
