Seven Windows laptops that stood out at CES 2026
ZDNET highlighted seven new Windows laptops at CES 2026 that showcased a mix of lightweight materials, innovative form factors and upgraded hardware from LG, Dell, Acer, Alienware, MSI, Lenovo and Asus. LG's Gram Pro 17 uses a new Aerominum material to cut weight and is set to include an Intel Core Ultra series processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 in a 17-inch WQXGA+ LCD build, with a 16-inch OLED sibling also announced.
Dell revived the XPS name with the XPS 14, a slim 14.6mm, ~3-pound laptop with an InfiniteEdge OLED, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips, a 4K webcam and 900ED batteries that are reportedly capable of up to 40 hours under the right conditions; limited configurations are available now starting at $2,050, with more builds due next month.
Acer's Swift 16 AI introduces a massive haptic trackpad that doubles as a drawing tablet, supports MPP 2.5 styluses, includes a stylus and a 16-inch 3K OLED WQXGA+ display, and is due in North America in Q1 2026. Alienware's 16 Area-51 shrinks flagship gaming hardware to a more manageable 16-inch chassis, pairing Intel Core Ultra 200Hz processors (most likely Ultra 7 255HX and 275HX) with Nvidia's latest GPUs, up to 64GB RAM and an anti-glare OLED Dell says reduces "gloss by 32%, alleviating glare, reflections"; it is slated for Q1 2026.
