Kuwaiti authorities said several US military aircraft crashed over Kuwait on Monday and that all crew members were safe and in stable condition. Local authorities said the incident marked the Pentagon's first known air assets downed in the US and Israel's latest war with Iran.

Social media footage appeared to show an F-15E Strike Eagle falling in a tailspin near a US air base, while Kuwaiti officials did not specify which aircraft went down or the cause. The clips visually correspond to Al Jahra on the western outskirts of Kuwait City, roughly six miles east of the Ali Al Salem US Air Base, which has been fending off hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks this weekend.

Other videos showed two uniformed personnel on the ground interacting cautiously with civilians, and a separate clip appeared to show a man wearing a flight helmet sitting in the trunk of a non-military hatchback.
