Severance Remains a Streaming Staple on Apple TV
Apple TV has built an impressive library in less than a decade, beginning with originals like See starring Jason Momoa and expanding into a notable home for science fiction and feature films. Late last year, Vince Gilligan's Pluribus, starring Rhea Seehorn, shattered records to become the most-watched show in Apple TV history and has been renewed for a second season.
Pluribus overtook Severance, the Ben Stiller–directed series starring Adam Scott. Severance is set at Lumon Industries, where some employees undergo a procedure that completely separates their work memories from their home memories. The show's second season debuted around this time last year, and although it has been off the air for months it remains one of the most popular titles on streaming charts.
Severance has been renewed for a third season; Ben Stiller promised the wait would be shorter than for season two, but production has yet to begin more than a year after the last episode aired.
