Severance Season 3 Could See Kogonada Replace Ben Stiller
Severance returned after a long pause and kept its audience, with Season 2 satisfying many viewers and setting up more story to come. Apple TV is said to be moving Season 3 up the priority list, while Ben Stiller focuses on directing a World War II film. There has been no official confirmation, but new claims suggest Kogonada would replace Stiller as the primary director for most of the next season.
Kogonada began as a visual artist and essayist and has written and directed films including Columbus and After Yang. He also directed A Big Bold Beautiful Journey and the Sundance film Zi, and has credits on series like The Acolyte and Pachinko. Severance requires someone who can broaden its world without losing the show’s didactic, darkly comic tone.
The Season 2 finale, in which Mark chooses to remain an “innie” in Lumon with Helly, points to a narrative shift that will demand grounded emotional beats as much as visual invention.
