She moved to Phuket as a single mom and says her son is thriving

Cheska Hull called off her wedding, left the UK, and relocated to Phuket with her son. A PR specialist who worked across luxury food, beverage, and hospitality and spent nearly four years on the reality show Made in Chelsea, she had been visiting the island annually, keeping friendships and getting to know local business owners.

She arrived on a DTV digital nomad visa while freelancing for UK clients and told them she wanted to live in Thailand. As a single mom, her main priority was her son’s happiness; he’s eight, settled into school, learned some Thai, and is thriving. Networking led to a job opening at Anantara, a hotel she already knew, and she now serves as cluster director of public relations with a work permit.

Adapting to Thai workplace customs included using "khun" before names and learning how nicknames are used; she also joined a weekly ritual at a tree with two spirit houses where the team offers incense and private prayers. She plans to stay long term.
