Sheridan's Landman Tops Martin's Dark Winds on Streaming Charts
Taylor Sheridan has built a television empire that stretches from the Yellowstone franchise to Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King after first working on his "American Frontier" trilogy. George R.R. Martin has enjoyed parallel success with the Game of Thrones franchise and spin-offs such as House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms; Martin also helped produce the neo-Western crime drama Dark Winds with the late Robert Redford.
Landman, Sheridan's series starring Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, finished its second season on Paramount+ on Jan. 18 and registered a series high in Nielsen’s streaming ratings that week. Data from FlixPatrol put Landman atop the Amazon PVOD chart, ahead of Dark Winds, and the show logged 1.62 billion minutes of viewing for the week of Jan.
19 to 25. The series debuted in 2024, returned for a second season last year, and was renewed for a third season a month after Season 2 premiered. Landman holds an 80% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes while the audience score sits at 56%.
