Shia LaBeouf cleared to travel to Rome for father's baptism
Shia LaBeouf was spotted in Rome this week after a judge cleared him to travel internationally following his February arrests. Photographs show him getting into a black car after arriving to support his father, Jeffrey, at a baptism. He wore a red, black and white patterned graphic T-shirt, gray shorts and sunglasses.
Court documents show LaBeouf filed a request on Feb. 25 to leave New Orleans for a March 1–8 vacation described as "for religious observations," noting no planned court dates in that period. Judge Simone Levine denied the motion at a Feb. 26 bond and status hearing, but on March 4 Judge Peter Hamilton granted permission to travel.
LaBeouf is expected to have another court hearing on March 19. LaBeouf was arrested on Feb. 17 in connection with an alleged Mardi Gras bar brawl. Footage of the altercation showed him allegedly hurling gay slurs at two men, and a police report says he called the men "f—-ts" between punches and may have dislocated one man’s nose.
