Taylor Sheridan's 'Sicario' Now Streaming on Netflix
Taylor Sheridan's 2015 thriller Sicario is now streaming on Netflix. The film was directed by Denis Villeneuve from Sheridan's screenplay and features Emily Blunt with Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro in key roles. Blunt plays Kate Macer, a by-the-books FBI agent recruited to an anti-drug task force led by the enigmatic Matt Graver (Brolin).
The unit breaks and bends more rules than it follows, forcing Kate to question what she has signed up for. On release, Sicario earned strong reviews, holding a 91% critics rating and an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 4.0/5 overall rating on Letterboxd.
Reviewers have highlighted Sheridan's tightly written script, Villeneuve's direction and Roger Deakins' cinematography. Its follow-up, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, is generally regarded as weaker than the original but still grossed $75 million worldwide against a budget of around $35 million.
