Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said he was left shocked after Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor substituted goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky 17 minutes into their Champions League clash. The 22-year-old Czech shot-stopper committed massive errors that left Spurs trailing 3-0 in under a quarter of an hour.

Guglielmo Vicario came on to stem the tide, but the damage had been done and Spurs eventually lost 5-2. Asked about the decision, Simeone said to Movistar: "No, I've never seen that at a professional level. It’s not my problem, it's theirs, their coach's and the goalkeeper's, and we’re focused on ourselves, not on someone else’s decision-making." The nature of the substitution drew heavy criticism from pundits.

Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart told TNT Sports: "He walks past Tudor - and he doesn’t even acknowledge him. If that’s man-management, I'm flabbergasted. He stands there and pretends it hasn’t happened. I’m just heartbroken from the lad, absolutely heartbroken.
