On the March 18 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, host Kelly Clarkson introduced vocal director Jessi Collins, who had brought her small dog Roo to the set. Collins said Roo first began howling during vocal warmups when he was about a year old, prompting surprised laughter from Clarkson and the studio.

Clarkson asked the house band, My Band, Y'all, to play scales, and as Clarkson and Collins warmed up, Roo joined in with his own howls. Collins then invited the audience to join a “giant group howl,” and after Clarkson counted down, the studio — including Roo — erupted together.

Roo’s second, louder howl drew applause, and Collins recalled the bond she felt when she first met him at roughly two months old, saying every cell in her body changed the second she held him. The show will end its seven-year run in the fall of 2026.
