Skate Style: next-gen skateboarding game with customisable animations
Skate Style is a new game from Zellah Games that lets you customise your character's animations. It leans toward the Session end of the authenticity scale and is billed as a "next-gen skateboarding game" focused on realism and physics-powered tricks. The recent revival of skating games began with the remaster of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and has produced titles ranging from the ultra-authentic Session: Skate Sim to the abstract Skate Story, with EA's Skate landing somewhere between them.
Not all entries have landed: Kara Phillips said EA's Skate felt like it was made by men in suits, and that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 was inhibited by the decision to implement time limits for every level.
