Movieweb reports Sky will produce an eight-part miniseries reimagining of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

According to a Sky press release, the project is a "bold" and contemporary "reimagining" that brings the story into the present while remaining grounded in the characters and investigative DNA of Larsson’s Millennium novels. Steven Lightfoot and Angela LaManna will write and executive-produce; Lightfoot is currently the showrunner for an upcoming Spider-Noir series and created Behind Her Eyes and Marvel's The Punisher on Netflix, while LaManna has written and executive-produced Behind Her Eyes and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Left Bank Pictures will produce alongside Sky, with production set to start in Spring 2026 in Lithuania.

No release date has been provided. Sky will handle distribution in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and Sony Pictures Television is handling international distribution with efforts underway to bring the series to American audiences. The outlet said it has reached out to representatives for comment and will update the story as further details emerge.
