Pulling off a sequel can be tricky, especially for one of the most celebrated deckbuilding roguelikes, but Slay the Spire 2 appears to be resonating. A Steam community blog post from developer Mega Crit shared details about the game's launch performance.

Most strikingly, Slay the Spire 2 sold 3 million copies just a week after launch, and players have completed 25 million runs. Mega Crit notes the second figure is missing "at least a few million," suggesting the total is even higher and the game isn't just going straight into everyone's backlogs.

The blog also teased future additions such as Steam Workshop support, a scoring system overhaul, and a phobia accessibility mode. There is no exact timeline, and Mega Crit says "new content and balance changes will come to the main branch whenever we feel they're ready."
