Solasta 2’s character creator makes party building the best part
Solasta 2’s early access is estimated at 10 to 15 hours, but I kept returning to the character creator instead of the campaign. The sequel moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 5, and the jump in detail and graphical fidelity is obvious from the moment you start building your party of four.
In this installment your characters are all orphans adopted into the Colwell family, allowing each sibling to be a different species—a continuation of the series’ unusual approach of letting you craft every party member. Character customization is deep. Faces can be mixed together, and scars, freckles, tattoos, and eyebrows can be manually adjusted and positioned; you can even tweak hair color and roots.
“In the first game, our characters were not that good, so we took a lot of effort to make them look much better and provide a lot of customization for the players,” Mathieu Girard said.
