Sony is reversing a multi-year strategy of bringing its biggest PlayStation 5 exclusives to PC. Multiplayer titles such as Marathon will still appear on Steam, but single-player blockbusters like Ghost of Yotei are set to remain console-only. The change also affects Housemarque’s upcoming sci-fi shooter Saros.

Returnal arrived on Steam two years after its PS5 debut, earned strong reviews, but apparently failed to generate enough sales to justify any loss of console purchases. Spider-Man 2 made the jump from PS5 to Steam in record time but moved with little fanfare or marketing and appeared to sell poorly as a result.

The strategy, like the previous one, remains subject to change as the gaming marketplace evolves, but for now players should not expect other first-party blockbusters — including Marvel’s Wolverine and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet — to appear on PC.
