According to Collider, the five-season police drama Southland is now available to stream on Netflix in the U.S., making Shawn Hatosy's portrayal of Officer Sammy Bryant easier to binge.

Southland, which premiered on NBC in 2009 before being picked up by TNT, follows several Los Angeles Police Department officers — including rookie Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie), trainer John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz) and Lydia Adams (Regina King). The series earned praise for on-location shooting in Los Angeles, a raw approach that tackles substance abuse and domestic violence, and a refusal to tidy up every storyline; it ran for 43 episodes across five seasons and has a 90% critic score and 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while Steven Spielberg called the series "genius."

Hatosy's Sammy appears across all five seasons, with the role exploring the character's mental health struggles and moral ambiguity. Hatosy later won an Emmy for his brief turn as Dr. Jack Abbot on The Pitt, and Southland's full run is now listed as available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
