Spanish prosecutors said they are investigating claims that the singer Julio Iglesias sexually abused two of his former employees. The two former employees filed a complaint with a Spanish high court on Jan. 5, officials said. On the same day the news site elDiario.es and the television network Univision Noticias published a three-year joint investigation into broader allegations of sexual assault and harassment by Mr.

Iglesias. Representatives did not respond to requests for comment: Russell L. King, listed on Mr. Iglesias’s website as his lawyer, did not immediately reply, Sony Music did not return a request, and a message sent through the singer’s official website went unanswered. The Spanish outlets said Mr.

Iglesias had not responded to repeated requests for comment. The journalists included the testimonies of 15 former employees who worked for Mr. Iglesias between the late 1990s and 2023. The women, who spoke off the record, described a climate they said involved recruitment based on looks, inappropriate questions about sexual preferences and anatomy, and, in two cases, alleged assaults or coercion in 2021 involving a domestic worker and a physical therapist who worked in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

Prosecutors did not release further information, and The New York Times has not independently verified the claims in the joint investigation.
