Watch Spielberg's 2002 Miniseries 'Taken' Before Disclosure Day
Steven Spielberg has long returned to UFO and alien themes across his career, from Close Encounters of the Third Kind to E.T., his take on War of the Worlds and even a brush with interdimensional beings in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. His next UFO-centered sci-fi thriller, Disclosure Day, arrives on June 12 and explores alien conspiracies and government cover-ups.
Before Disclosure Day reaches theaters, viewers can revisit Taken, a 10-part miniseries Spielberg helped develop for the Sci‑Fi Channel in 2002. Each roughly 90‑minute episode aired in two‑hour installments; Spielberg served as an executive producer and all episodes were written by Leslie Bohem.
Directors on the project included Tobe Hooper, Bryan Spicer and Breck Eisner, and the ensemble cast features Dakota Fanning, Anton Yelchin, Joel Gretsch, John Hawkes and many others. Taken centers on the 1947 Roswell crash and traces three families whose lives are shaped by that event.
