Spotify introduces Page Match to link audiobooks and print books
Zdnet reports Spotify introduced Page Match on Thursday, a feature that simplifies switching between audiobooks and physical books and that will allow Spotify to sell physical books on the app through a partnership with independent bookseller Bookshop. Page Match lets users scan a printed book or ebook page to jump to the same place in Spotify's audiobook, and it works in reverse by scanning any page to orient the app and guide users forward or backward to their exact spot.
To move from book to audiobook, users search for the audiobook, tap Page Match, choose Scan to listen and enable camera access; Spotify then offers to play from that place or save it for later. The feature is available to all Spotify audiobook listeners on most English-language titles; Premium subscribers can begin using the tool now, with a full rollout to all users by February 23.
