At the SXSW conference, Spotify co-CEO Gustav Söderström unveiled a beta feature that lets listeners review and edit their Taste Profile, the algorithmic model of their music preferences. That profile fuels recommendations like Discover Weekly, Made For You playlists and the year‑end Wrapped feature.

Beginning with Premium listeners in New Zealand, the app will show all listening data in one place — music, podcasts and audiobooks — and allow users to alter the profile or ask for more or less of a particular vibe. After adjustments, the home page will reflect a different set of suggestions.

Users access the Taste Profile by tapping their profile picture and scrolling down, and edits can be made with natural‑language prompts. Spotify previously offered tools to exclude certain tracks or playlists, but those options were not as comprehensive.
