When Squid Game first exploded onto Netflix in late 2021, its influence reached the GTA 5 modding scene quickly. Early attempts at recreating the show's games in Los Santos and Blaine County were often defined by janky scripts, bland assets and unreliable AI. Some standalone mods looked the part but lacked depth and purpose.

The projects that showed up in GTA roleplaying spaces brought interesting ideas and lots of keen contestants, yet fell short on execution and replay value. Over the last six months, following the conclusion of the show's third outing last summer, a number of fan-made projects have stepped up.

The Red Light–Green Light gauntlet in particular has been reworked with scripts that actually function, configurable timers, smarter detection logic and clearly defined elimination rules, while NPC behaviour now better matches both the show's darker themes and GTA's zany tone.
