StackBlitz CEO Eric Simons says the software startup has "gone all in" on AI agents and aims to have more agents than human employees this year. The company has deployed internally built systems across business intelligence, coding, product development, customer support, and outbound sales.

He describes a future in which your AI agent "will talk to other people's agents on your behalf, negotiating pricing for a product you want to buy, inquiring about availability for a restaurant, arguing your political viewpoints." OpenClaw, an open-source AI assistant that works inside platforms like WhatsApp, Slack, and iMessage, offers an early example of agents communicating and coordinating without direct human involvement.

"Agents are an extension of yourself," he added. Simons says AI's ability to write software autonomously has begun to change how companies are run, eroding moats based on specialized knowledge and contributing to a recent slump in software and SaaS stocks.
