Star Birds early access adds bakeries, restaurants and alien-feeding mechanics

Pcgamer reports that Star Birds' latest early access update adds bakeries and restaurants to Toukana Interactive's factory management sim.

The update brings new mechanics and content: Volt Shrooms can be used as an alternative power source, tentacular creatures in asteroid craters can be coaxed back into their holes with food, and the developers write, "Ever fed an alien pizza? Now's the moment!" Players will explore these systems across three additional levels, which Toukana says are "longer and more complex than the intro levels from the earlier star systems," and the game now allows players to generate their own levels.

Toukana is already testing a further update — an additional level introducing more aliens and mechanics — in the game's beta branch. Star Birds is currently on a 25% discount at $15 (£12.50), with the sale ending on February 5.
