Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord casts Maul as 'a bad guy fighting worse guys'

We're just a few weeks out from the return of former Sith lord Maul — he ditched the "Darth" bit a while back — to our screens in a new animated show.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is a 10-episode series that puts the sinister Zabrak front and center. Voiced once again by Sam Witwer, who has embodied the character since he returned to the Star Wars galaxy in the Clone Wars animated show, Shadow Lord follows Maul as he seeks to build a new criminal syndicate and takes on a new apprentice.

Maul's ultimate fate — and this is a spoiler for Star Wars: Rebels — is to die in battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine. Before that, he operates various criminal syndicates across the galaxy.
