Stardew Valley's 1.7 patch is expected to be larger than many might anticipate, with creator Eric Barone outlining several planned additions in an interview with IGN.

One of the features mentioned aims to address player-raised children, which are currently described as fairly boring: they only walk around the player's house, do not grow, and have few demands.

The upcoming update intends to make those children "a little more interesting," according to Barone's comments in the interview.
