Starfleet Academy's '300th Night' Revisits Voyager's 'Omega Directive'

Starfleet Academy continues to weave in Voyager threads. The presence of Robert Picardo's Doctor felt like an ongoing reference, and Episode 8, "The Life of Stars," paid off two of his 1990s arcs by echoing "Real Life" and "Blink of an Eye." Episode 9, "300th Night," goes further by directly engaging with Voyager's 1998 story "The Omega Directive." In Voyager, Captain Janeway was compelled by a secret Starfleet protocol to seek out and destroy Omega, a substance revered by Seven of Nine and feared for its ability to tear open subspace.
