Statik Snap-n-Charge review: small magnetic power bank for cable-free top-ups
ZDNET reviewed the Statik Snap-n-Charge, a compact 3,200 mAh/16 Wh power bank that uses magnetic connector tips so users can top up devices without carrying cables.
The review says the unit is designed for quick top-ups — roughly a 50% recharge for a smartphone or about three to four charges for earbuds — and is housed in a polymer shell that withstands being rattled around in pockets or bags. It includes a power button and a small LED array to show charge level.
Statik supplies three magnetic adapter tips (Apple Lightning, USB-C and micro USB) that snap onto the bank and hold securely, and the tips are long enough to work with chunky phone cases. The company also offers a polymer holder for the connectors to keep them from getting lost, the review notes.
ZDNET flags one drawback: the Snap-n-Charge recharges via a legacy micro USB port rather than USB-C. The outlet's buying advice calls the $30 device a useful, pocketable emergency charger that holds its charge for extended periods, and points out an alternative pack that adds extra USB-C tips for less than a dollar more.
