Last fall my husband and I sailed on Celebrity Constellation for 51 nights across six back-to-back cruises, using discounted offers we received onboard. Over the voyage we stayed in interior, ocean-view (standard and deluxe), veranda, and concierge-class cabins to compare the spaces and perks.

The interior stateroom was 171 square feet with a comfortable king bed, a generous counter, and a large rectangular shower; the lack of windows made it easy to sleep in but I missed watching sunsets from the bed. Ocean-view rooms shared much of the same layout but varied in window placement and could sit lower on the ship for a quieter ride.

The deluxe ocean-view expanded to 242 square feet with a bigger window and extra floor space for yoga or hosting friends, though it typically cost about $100 more than a standard ocean-view and I wasn’t sure the upgrade was worth it.
