Steam drew $1.6 billion in December 2025, Arc Raiders sold 1.2m over the holidays

Pcgamer reported that Alinea Analytics estimates Dec. 2025 was Steam's highest-grossing December, with over 100 million users generating $1.6 billion in gross revenue.

The report explains "that’s up 22.7% over December 2024 and even more than December 2020’s pandemic-driven high of $1.4 billion."

The analysis also notes Arc Raiders was the second-biggest earner of the season behind Counter-Strike 2, selling 1.2 million copies in the weeks between Dec. 21 and Jan. 4 and 12 million copies overall. As the article puts it, "the brakes are broken on the ARC Raiders train," with 250,000 copies sold on Boxing Day and almost 3.2 million players checking in, about half of them on Steam.
