Steven Yeun wants to be in the Community movie
Fans have chased the promise of "six seasons and a movie" since Danny Pudi first shouted the line in Community's season 2 episode in 2011. The phrase began as a jab at the short-lived NBC superhero series The Cape, but when Community ended with season 6 in 2015 a final shot promised simply #andamovie.
Plans resurfaced in 2022 when Peacock announced a movie reuniting the original cast (minus Chevy Chase, whose character Pierce Hawthorne was killed off in season 5), though filming, slated for 2024, has been delayed by the difficulty of getting the entire cast together — Donald Glover in particular has been hard to pin down.
When Gillian Jacobs appeared on a Zoom call to discuss her role in Invincible season 4 she had little new to add about the movie. "I know nothing, and that's the truth," she said. "I think we all would love to do it. It's pretty incredible that this show that we started in 2009 — people still want a movie in 2026.
