Stranger Things spinoff Tales from '85 to debut in theaters first

An animated Stranger Things spinoff, Tales from '85, will premiere in April with its first two episodes receiving a limited theatrical release on Saturday, April 18. The episodes will play in 34 theaters across the United States, and tickets go on sale Wednesday at 11 a.m.

EDT. Tickets and a list of participating locations will be available through AMC. The series is set between seasons 2 and 3 and follows the familiar group of characters introduced nearly a decade ago. Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Max, Hopper and the rest return, though they are not voiced by their live-action counterparts; Odessa A'zion joins the cast as a new character, Nikki Baxter.

Showrunner Eric Robles said, "Nikki provides a fresh new perspective on the status quo, shaking up dynamics and points-of-view.
