Stream Wayward Pines, the 2-Season Sci-Fi Series That Made Stranger Things Possible

Before the Duffer brothers broke through with Stranger Things, they made their TV debut co-directing episodes of the underrated sci-fi series Wayward Pines, which is currently streaming its two seasons on Hulu. The cast includes Matt Dillon, Toby Jones, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino and Juliette Lewis.

The series opens with Agent Ethan Burke waking disoriented after a car crash and walking into a town where people behave strangely. Burke, who was searching for two missing agents, discovers one corpse and finds the other, Kate Hewson, living in the town and seeming to have aged; when the sheriff refuses to help, Burke tries to escape only to find Wayward Pines surrounded by a massive electric fence.

The first episode was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and a major plot twist arrives around Episode 5 that reshapes the story. Season 1 was adapted from a trilogy of books and built toward a widely praised conclusion.
