Super Mario Galaxy poster gives first look at Wart
Chris Pratt wasn't joking when he told fans there were 'a couple more' surprise characters set to show up in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Nintendo's new poster, released ahead of the sequel's final trailer, hides a first look at deep-cut villain Wart to the right of Mario's giant foot, sitting alongside Mouser and Birdo.
Known as 'Mamu' in Japan, Wart is a toad-like creature who leads the 8 bits gang and attacks by spitting bubbles. He was the main antagonist and final boss of Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988), later appeared in Super Mario Advance (2001), and was briefly seen again in a musical, much friendlier capacity in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
Mouser has been similarly absent from the series since his stint in Super Mario Bros. 2. In short, the pair aren't exactly Yoshi or Donkey Kong, so we're definitely curious as to why they're now rocking up on the big screen.
