Superman, Supergirl and more star in new DC Elseworlds series
Superman's father, Jor-El, takes the Man of Steel mantle in a new Elseworlds series, Superman: Father of Tomorrow. The story follows an adult Jor-El after he crash lands in Kansas following the destruction of Krypton, essentially grafting Superman's traditional origin onto his father.
As he adjusts to life on Earth, Jor-El discovers he can help his new home not only with his powers, but with his brilliant mind. The series launches on May 27 from writer Kenny Porter and artist Danny Earls; the main cover is by Earls, with variants by Gabriel Hardman and Riley Rossmo, and unlettered preview pages have been released.
Elseworlds titles sit outside main continuity, freeing creators to take established characters in wild directions. Batman tracked down Jack the Ripper in Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola's Gotham by Gaslight one-shot in 1989, and the imprint returned in 2024 with a new slate that included Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age and Green Lantern: Dark.
