Surge of players applying to the LSPD on GTA roleplay servers
Pcgamer reports an influx of players applying to the LSPD on GTA roleplay servers in Los Santos and Blaine County, where a growing police-academy subculture brings formal hiring and training into in-character play.
The process described includes an in-character written application via the LSPD "Employment Office" outlining character and motivations; a review by commanding officers who reject many for unrealistic characters or rule-breaking records; a formal voice interview checking RP maturity, clarity and communication skills; a full Police Academy teaching radio codes, de-escalation, arrests, traffic stops and scene control; a Probationary Officer phase with supervised patrols and Field Training Officers; and finally full officer status with independent patrols and reports.
The writer says the scene feels more sophisticated than when they first encountered it in 2017, calling it a bit of a "blue-line renaissance" and noting robbers and cops shouting codes they've clearly pulled from a Wiki or Google. It's not described as as reality-blurring as EVE Online, but it is "pretty full on," and the writer remains unsure whether they'll commit to such deep RP while appreciating the imaginative longevity of the scene.
