Sweden's long-term tech culture is luring talent from Silicon Valley
Lovable CEO Anton Osika says a Swedish emphasis on long-term thinking and tight-knit, team-first culture is drawing some tech workers back from Silicon Valley and London. He said many return because they miss a work ethos focused on building for the coming decades and on teams that perform well together.
Lovable, which launched in November 2024, reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue within eight months. The company also grew more than 30% in one month, from $300 million to $400 million, Lovable’s chief revenue officer Ryan Meadows said. Osika described the pace as “hypergrowth,” adding that the momentum is bringing foreign tech leaders to Stockholm, in some cases with their families, and that Sweden’s capital markets and talent pool help firms punch above their weight.
Still, Sweden has struggled to keep many of its biggest tech successes.
