Nintendo's Switch 2 is starting to hit its stride after a recent software update that bundles several welcome quality‑of‑life improvements — color‑coded storage breakdowns and new menu animations among them — and a new "boost mode" that runs original Switch games as if in TV mode.

Boost mode raises many titles from 720p to 1080p, though not every game is supported and it can increase battery drain. Because so many must‑play titles on the platform are enhanced Switch games, the feature already feels essential to some players. Pokémon Pokopia, released on March 5, has emerged as the Switch 2's breakout system seller.

The building sim is selling rapidly, with social clips of ambitious player creations driving interest and surprise that the spin‑off is a Switch 2 exclusive. Combining sandbox functionality with the Pokémon brand, Pokopia draws in hardcore fans with lore, cozy sim players with furniture and terraforming tools, and former Animal Crossing devotees craving something new.
