Sydney Sweeney channels Marilyn Monroe in vintage Ceil Chapman gown
Sydney Sweeney brought Old Hollywood to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in a vintage Ceil Chapman gown once worn by Marilyn Monroe. The cream-colored, figure-hugging dress had an off-the-shoulder neckline, three-quarter sleeves and ruching at the waist and side, and Monroe wore the same design on the April 7, 1952 Life magazine cover.
Sweeney accented the look with a sparkling brooch at the décolletage, a diamond Octavia Elizabeth ring and bow-trimmed Ferragamo pumps; the shoes were listed at $1,090. The circular brooch echoed the detail Monroe added for her Life cover. The actress has been channeling Monroe for months, wearing a custom Galia Lahav white halter to The Housemaid premiere in December that echoed the Seven Year Itch dress, and debuting a bob in vintage waves at the Governors Awards that recalled the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes era.
