Szoboszlai: 'It should have been 10-0!' after Liverpool revenge
Liverpool overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit with a 4-0 win at Anfield, with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah. Alexis Mac Allister orchestrated the midfield as the hosts dominated from the first whistle.
The dressing room had spent the week stewing over the aftermath of their defeat in Turkey, Szoboszlai said. He recalled hearing Galatasaray celebrating while he was giving a post-match interview in the RAMS Park tunnels and added, "From the first minute, we were on that...that gave us a little push."
Despite the scoreline, Liverpool missed chances — Salah had a penalty saved by Galatasaray goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir — and Ekitike said they "could have won 10-0." The victory sets up a quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain; before then the Reds face Brighton in the Premier League and Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
