T‑Mobile introduces Better Value family plan at $140/month for three lines
T‑Mobile has launched a new Better Value family plan that starts at $140 a month for three lines, the carrier says, positioning the offering against rival plans from Verizon and AT&T. The company says the plan will save customers “over $1,000 a year” versus similar Verizon and AT&T plans, in part by bundling perks such as Netflix and Hulu, satellite connectivity and scam protection, and by offering a five-year price lock.
The $140 price is a limited‑time offer; T‑Mobile says the regular price will be $155 per month for three lines. The plan joins T‑Mobile’s existing Experience Beyond and Experience More tiers. There is fine print: the $140 rate requires AutoPay or customers pay an extra $5 per month per line, and the price excludes taxes, surcharges and fees, including a device connection charge of up to $35 per line.
To get the three‑line offer customers must sign up for at least three new lines if switching carriers, or “at least three lines after five years of tenure on another T‑Mobile postpaid plan,” the company says. T‑Mobile also says it will pay off eligible device balances up to $800 per line for up to four lines via a prepaid Mastercard, and that switching online should take about 15 minutes.
