Take-Two CEO says he can't imagine gamers skipping GTA 6
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says the November 19 release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be "the real one," noting the launch is set for consoles while word on a PC version is still pending. Zelnick asked how anyone over 17 with a console could decide not to play the game: "If you have a console and you're over 17, just explain to me how it is that you've decided, 'No, no GTA 6, [I'm] not interested?'" He also wondered how many people might take a sick day and how many records the game could break at release.
He argued players tend to stay engaged with the entertainment they fell in love with at 17, drawing a parallel with music choices and saying, "If you fell in love with videogames at 17 and you're 40, guess what you still do? Play videogames." Zelnick added that Take-Two is "benefitting from industry tailwinds" even if some disagree.
