Taylor Frankie Paul loses temporary custody of son

Dakota Mortensen was granted temporary custody of the couple’s son, Ever, after filing an order of protection against Taylor Frankie Paul on Thursday; the order, issued Friday, bars Paul from parent time with the toddler until a court hearing on April 7, when she will be allowed to speak.

The decision follows the release of footage from a 2023 incident in which Paul appears to get physical with Mortensen — putting him in a chokehold and throwing several barstool chairs — while her 8-year-old daughter, Indy, sat in the room. Mortensen said Indy was hit in the head with a metal chair.

After that altercation Paul was arrested and charged with three felonies (one count of aggravated assault and two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child) and misdemeanor counts of child abuse and criminal mischief; she pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charge and the lesser charges were dropped.
