Taylor Frankie Paul's 'Bachelorette' suitors may sue ABC over canceled season
Five men who competed for Taylor Frankie Paul on The Bachelorette are considering legal action against ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery after the network pulled the season. The decision followed the leak of a 2023 video showing Paul throwing chairs at her ex, Dakota Mortensen, during a domestic violence incident; the season had been set to premiere on Sunday.
The contestants say Warner Bros. created an unsafe working environment by placing Paul in intimate settings despite her past. On the "2 Angry Men" podcast, hosts said some men quit jobs, put their lives on hold and lost financial opportunities for the chance at television exposure.
Insiders estimate the cancellation will cost the network tens of millions; one source said, "It could be $50 million [or more]," while another put production costs at "$10 to $15 million, maybe more." The show had also negotiated freebies for clients such as hotels.
