Taylor Sheridan Fans Have a New '1923' Replacement Series To Watch
Fans of Taylor Sheridan and Westerns have plenty to choose from these days: the fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown and the second season of Landman are airing, while the third season of Tulsa King recently concluded. Hallmark is also placing a big bet on the genre with Hope Valley: 1874, a new prequel series that echoes the tone of Sheridan’s prequel shows 1923 and 1883 as it traces how a town was founded amid political, social and religious disputes.
Hope Valley: 1874 follows Bethany Joy Lenz as Rebecca Clarke, a devoted mother who travels from Chicago to the Western Canadian frontier with her 11-year-old daughter. After her wagon fails, Rebecca accepts help from local rancher Tom Moore (Benjamin Ayres). She resolves to stay detached, but gradually falls for Tom and begins to put down roots alongside townspeople such as the determined pioneer Hattie Quinn (Jill Hennessy).
