Taylor Sheridan’s latest series, The Madison, has quickly made an impression on Paramount+. The quieter, more introspective neo-Western premiered its first three episodes on Mar. 14 and leans into themes of grief, family and healing rather than the explosive crime drama Sheridan is known for.

The story follows the Clyburn family as they leave New York for the Montana wilderness after a devastating loss, and centers on the bond between three generations of women. Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell lead an ensemble that also includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller and Alaina Pollack, with Pfeiffer’s return to television drawing particular attention.

The Madison now ranks as the third most popular series on Paramount+ in the United States, per Flix Patrol, and is not a Yellowstone spin-off, sharing only a setting with Sheridan’s earlier work. Critics and viewers have noted that the show stands on its own, rewarded by patient storytelling and strong performances.
