Taylor Sheridan released his latest Paramount+ series, The Madison, this week to mostly positive reviews and typical viewership. The show was initially intended as a Yellowstone sequel but was later revealed not to be part of that universe; one possible reason is that Sheridan has severed ties with Paramount after signing a deal with NBCUniversal that begins in a few years.

His run at Paramount has been notable: he created Yellowstone and several other hit series that frequently occupy Paramount+ viewership charts. One of those titles, 1883, has now hit a new milestone. Released in 2021 and told across 10 episodes, the series continues to draw audiences years after its debut.

It served as the first official prequel to Yellowstone, tracing the origins of the Dutton family's Montana ranch and following the great-grandfather of John Dutton III as he journeys west with his family, primarily through the perspective of Elsa Dutton.
